MotorXP-AFM 2.0 System Requirements

2 min read

This article lists the hardware and software requirements for running MotorXP-AFM 2026. Please review them before installing the application.

Operating systems #

  • Windows 8.1 / 10 / 11 (64-bit)
  • Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025

Warning. Linux, macOS and Windows 7 are not supported.

Remote desktops, virtual machines and server operating systems #

Windows Server is supported only when a graphics driver with hardware acceleration and OpenGL 3.3 support is installed. Windows Server and RDP sessions often fall back to software rendering (Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), which does not support OpenGL 3.3.

For MotorXP-AFM 2026 to work correctly, a physical or virtual GPU with an up-to-date driver and hardware support for OpenGL 3.3 is required. You can check your OpenGL version with GLview Pro (free in the Microsoft Store) or with any OpenGL Extensions Viewer.

Hardware requirements #

Component Minimum Recommended
Processor Any Intel or AMD x86-64 processor Intel Core i7+ / AMD Ryzen 7+ (4 cores or more)
RAM 8 GB 16 GB or more
Disk SSD, 10 GB free space NVMe SSD, 20 GB free space or more
Graphics (GPU) OpenGL 3.3 or higher, hardware acceleration required Discrete GPU with an up-to-date driver

Warning. If OpenGL 3.3 is not supported, or if software rendering is used (for example, when working over RDP without a proper graphics driver), the 3D scene will fail to display and the application may crash.

Software requirements #

The components listed below are mandatory for MotorXP-AFM 2026. They can be installed automatically during setup, but pre-installing them is recommended in order to shorten the installation time.

Component Version Notes
Visual C++ Redistributable 2015–2022 (x64) Required for the application core
MATLAB Runtime R2020b (9.9) Required for the Standalone and MATLAB-integration versions
MATLAB (for integration) R2020b – R2025b Required for the MATLAB-integration version

Note. The Standalone version runs on the MATLAB Runtime and is fully independent: neither MATLAB itself nor a MATLAB license is required.
