# Build a Motor Model and Run a Magnetostatic FEA in Minutes

One of the goals of **MotorXP-AFM 2.0** is to make electric motor design fast and straightforward. This short tutorial shows how quickly a complete axial-flux motor model can be built from scratch and analysed with a basic **magnetostatic finite element analysis (FEA)** — from an empty project to the field solution in just a few clicks.

#### Building the model and running the analysis

1. **Launch MotorXP-AFM Design Studio 2.0** (Standalone or MATLAB version).
2. **Create a new motor.**

3. **Select the stator geometry script.** Choose the script that generates the stator geometry.

4. **Select the rotor geometry script.** Choose the script that generates the rotor geometry.

5. **Open the analysis tab.** Switch to the Magnetostatic finite element analysis tab.

6. **Set up and run the analysis.** Configure the calculation parameters and click the Run analysis button.

7. **Save the project and wait for the results.** Save the project file and wait until the analysis is complete.

8. **Review the results.** When the calculation finishes, the field solution is displayed and the project is ready for further analysis or export.

**Tip.** The whole workflow — from an empty project to the magnetostatic field solution — takes only a few minutes. Once the model is built, you can reuse it as a starting point for more detailed studies, changing the geometry scripts or the analysis parameters as needed.
